Easy Black Bean Soup

There’s nothing like a healthy, hearty bowl of warm black bean soup to provide added comfort during the winter season! Mmmmmmm.


Salt to taste Pepper to taste

Cilantro to taste

½ fresh squeezed lime

10 Slices Center

Cut Bacon (finely chopped)

2 ½ cups chopped onions

6 Garlic Cloves pressed

1 Can Chicken Broth

1½ cups canned tomatoes or Fresh Chopped

2 tablespoons ketchup

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon chili powder

4 cans black beans

Sour Cream and Cheddar Cheese for Garnish


Use your favorite soup pot and sauté bacon about 5 minutes.

Stir in onions until translucent and then add garlic until you can smell it (about 1 minute).

Add broth, tomatoes, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and chili powder.

After a few minutes stir in beans turn heat to high and bring to a boil. After soup begins to boil adjust heat so gently bubbling – cook 10 minutes longer and add cilantro.

Cook until thickened adding juice from lime at very end.

Garnish with Cheddar Cheese and Sour Cream after placing in soup bowl or mug. Enjoy!
